The life of New York City artist Jean-Michel Basquiat will be coming to Broadway as a musical. The musical will follow Basquiat’s life, from graffiti artist, to neo-expresionist artist, to his untimely death in 1988. Basquiat will be played by “Motown” musical cast member Eric LaJuan Summers as the neo-expresionist artist with writing by Chris Blisset, Matt Uremovich, and Larry Tobias while directing will come from Paul Stancato.
Basquiat the musical will get a private reading on Monday June 24th.
